What Housemates stores

Housemates stores cat names and roles, optional cat photos, journey progress, check-ins and drafts, observations, notes, and journal history. Housemates itself does not send this information to a Housemates server or third party.

Backups and device transfer

Housemates configures supported operating-system backup and device-transfer features to exclude its records, drafts, and photos. Operating-system exclusion is best-effort, and a backup made by an older app version may remain. Do not rely on backup or transfer to move Housemates data. Reinstalling the app or changing devices can permanently lose it.

On iOS, Housemates applies the resource flag that excludes its Application Support directory and saved files from backup. On Android, Housemates disables backup and excludes every app-storage domain from both cloud backup and device-to-device transfer rules.

Purchases

The one-time Journey unlock is processed by Apple or Google. Housemates never receives or stores your payment details. Cat profiles, photos, observations, notes, and journal data are not included in purchase requests. The platform store keeps its own transaction records under its privacy policy.

Third parties

Housemates does not include third-party advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs. Its only external service is the platform’s in-app-purchase service.

Retention and deletion

Records and photos stay in the app’s private storage until you delete them or uninstall the app. Delete local data removes the app’s current records, drafts, and photos from this device. It cannot delete Apple or Google transaction records, or copies that the operating system may already have made.

Children’s privacy

Housemates is a general-audience pet-care tool and is not directed at children. Housemates does not operate an account or service that collects personal information.

Changes to this policy

If Housemates changes what it stores or how it handles data, this policy will be updated to describe the change plainly.
